Application of Machine-Learning Interatomic Potentials in Materials Design

International workshop
June 6, 2019
Skoltech, Moscow, Russia

The main goal of the workshop is to discuss the progress in application of machine-learning interatomic potentials (MLIPs) to materials modeling. Latest methodological developments in the field of MLIPs as well as their practical applications will be presented.

The workshop will feature 15 oral presentations by researchers from Lausanne (Switzerland) and Moscow (Russia), followed by a round table. During the round table the following questions will be discussed:

  • What are the areas of applications of MLIPs?
  • Can MLIPs be directly compared with empirical/semi-empricial interatomic potentials?
  • What are the perspectives of using MLIPs?
